How we make money
How Closing Business Checklist is paid when a company we refer has its data transferred and approved, and why that gives us a financial interest in referrals.
Closing Business Checklist helps owners organize the work of closing a business. We refer companies whose records may qualify to an AI data buyer through a referral link. The buyer pays us a referral fee only after a company we refer has its data transferred and approved. Using this site costs you nothing.
We have a financial interest in approved referrals. Our guides point to our own records checker, and its Apply button can send you on to the buyer’s site through our referral link. The sentence above is printed beside every Apply button there.
Approval and payment are separate from a click
A visit, checker result, registration or application does not mean a company has been approved. Acceptance, licensing scope and payment terms are settled between the company and the buyer. Only the buyer can quote terms for your company, and this site cannot tell you what an offer would be. We do not guarantee acceptance, a particular price or a payment date.
Your decision
Use the guides to organize the closure work regardless of whether you pursue a license. The referral arrangement will not fit every company: we refer companies with 30 or more full-time employees in the markets the checker covers. The data licensing guide for closed companies explains the process and the questions to resolve before sharing records.
We do not submit applications on a company’s behalf. Apply directly on the buyer’s site if you decide to proceed, after identifying the authorized representative and reviewing the proposed terms.
Next steps
Read about this site for our editorial approach and the privacy page before submitting checker answers or an optional email. Keep any decision to license records separate from the other approvals needed to finish closing the business.
